Questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. Every tool on this page is free with no signup, no watermark, and no page-count trap. A free account adds saving files to your library, reusable templates, and sending documents for signature.
Are my files private?
The editing tools run entirely inside your own browser: your PDF is never uploaded to a server, which makes them safe for contracts, financials, and anything sensitive. The one exception is by design: when you SEND a document for signature, that file is stored so your signers can open it from their link.
Are the electronic signatures legally valid?
Electronic signatures are legally recognized in the U.S. under the ESIGN Act and UETA when the parties consent to sign electronically, which our signing flow asks for explicitly. Every finished document includes a certificate page recording who signed, when, and from which IP address. For unusual or high-stakes agreements, talk to a lawyer; we do not give legal advice.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Locked PDFs cannot be edited here. Remove the password first in the app that created the file (or your PDF reader's export), then bring it back.
