Free PDF tool

Compress a PDF, with straight talk about results.

Two honest options: a lossless re-save that keeps your text selectable, and a shrink-hard mode that makes scans dramatically smaller. You see the real before and after size, and nothing leaves your device.

Questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?

Honest answer: it depends on the file. Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink dramatically with the shrink-hard mode. A lean, text-only PDF may barely shrink at all, and we will show you the real before and after size instead of pretending.

What is the difference between the two modes?

Clean re-save rewrites the file more efficiently with zero quality loss; text stays selectable. Shrink hard re-renders each page as a compressed image: much smaller for scans, but text becomes part of the image and is no longer selectable.

Why can't this match the compression some sites advertise?

Heavier tricks (like rebuilding the images inside a PDF one by one) need server-side software, which would mean uploading your file. This tool deliberately keeps your document on your device, and is upfront about that trade.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Both modes run entirely inside your browser.

Need to get something signed?

The same suite sends documents for legally recognized electronic signature: signers click a link, sign on any device, and everyone gets the finished file. No per-envelope fees.
