   Understand how this differs from a clinic or in-home solo practice

   This is not the RBT-staffed clinic and not the solo in-home direct-service practice (both are separate cards in this bank). Here you sell only BCBA-level work: supervision of other organizations' technicians, assessments, treatment-plan design, and consultation. You employ no RBTs and carry no clinic lease. The trade-off is that revenue is capped by your own billable supervisory hours, but overhead and complexity stay very low and margin stays high.

   Credential as an individual provider

   Maintain your BCBA certification through the BACB, confirm your state behavior-analyst licensure, and get credentialed as an individual in-network provider with the payers you will bill, or set up cleanly for private-pay and clinic-contract work. Supervision and assessment codes such as 97155 and 97151 reimburse at a materially higher rate than direct service, which is the economic point of this model. Carry professional liability insurance and stand up HIPAA-compliant systems before you take a case.

   Define your supervision and consulting offering

   Smaller ABA clinics frequently have RBTs but not enough BCBA coverage to meet supervision ratios and payer requirements. Package supervision hours, assessment services, treatment-plan authorship, and program consultation into clear offerings you can sell to those clinics, and offer assessment and parent-consultation work to private-pay families. Being the BCBA that undersupervised clinics rent is a durable niche.

   Contract with clinics and private-pay families

   Sell B2B supervision contracts to clinics that need BCBA oversight they cannot afford to employ full time, and take private-pay assessment and consultation clients directly. Contracts with clinics smooth your revenue; private-pay work fills gaps and pays without credentialing friction. Price on the value of your credential and the higher supervisory reimbursement, and be transparent that this is professional consultation, not a guarantee of clinical outcomes.

   Manage the one-person capacity ceiling

   Because income is your billable hours, protect them: track authorized and contracted hours so your supervisory time actually gets paid, keep continuing education current, and guard against overcommitting to more clinics than you can properly supervise. Under-supervising a clinic to chase revenue is both an ethics and a liability problem. The margin is strong precisely because overhead is low, so the constraint to manage is your own time.
