   Design for adolescents, not adults

   Teen anger is shaped by brain development, identity, peers, family, and school pressures, so an adult curriculum does not fit. Build age-appropriate content and delivery: shorter segments, relatable scenarios, interactive and peer-aware exercises, and family involvement. Consider separate tracks for younger and older teens.

   Meet the requirements for working with minors

   Working with minors adds real obligations: background checks, parental consent, mandated-reporter awareness, and appropriate supervision and safeguarding practices.    Teen programs sell to schools and districts (for at-risk students or as an alternative to suspension), to parents paying privately for a struggling teen, and to juvenile courts or diversion programs referring youth. Each buys differently: schools via contracts and RFPs, parents via private pay, juvenile systems via approved-provider lists. Decide which you will pursue first.

   Build credibility and curriculum

   A facilitator certification, youth-work experience, and an evidence-informed adolescent curriculum give you credibility with schools and courts. Create intake, consent, attendance, and completion documents suited to minors and their guardians. If you take juvenile court referrals, confirm what that local court accepts, exactly as with adult court programs.

   Deliver in schools, community, or online

   Run groups in schools during or after the day, in community spaces, or in secure live-virtual sessions for families who prefer it. Group classes carry the margin; individual coaching serves teens who need privacy. Keep parents informed within appropriate boundaries, since family buy-in drives teen progress.

   Be honest about scope
