This is where you decide whether the product can actually make money at the price the channel will pay.

   Choose contract manufacturing or your own line

   Most kit makers start with contract manufacturers (domestic or overseas) rather than building a factory, trading margin for lower capital and faster scaling. Vet suppliers for quality, capacity, ethical labor, and their own compliance, and understand your import duties and logistics, because supply-chain and tariff exposure is a defining risk in this business.    Sell wholesale and manage the channel

   Sell into distributors, retailers, franchises, and STEM centers with clear wholesale pricing, minimums, and terms, and support them with samples and marketing. Wholesale is a volume game at thin margins, so forecast demand carefully, manage inventory and cash tied up in production runs, and protect against the supply-chain and import shocks that can wipe out a season. A direct-to-consumer line can add margin, but the ecosystem-scale opportunity is supplying the channel.
