   A rental unit only earns when it runs and starts on the first try. Log hours, change oil and filters on schedule, load-test between rentals, and keep a fast turnaround so a returned unit is back out the door.    Be ready for the emergency spike

   When a heat event, storm, or grid emergency hits your region, rental power sells out in hours and rates firm up. Keep one or two units held for emergency callouts, know your fuel supply, and have terms ready for utilities, hospitals, and facilities that need power now. Note the honest limit: running diesel is bounded by EPA emissions rules and local air permits, especially for extended runtime.
