CBD-isolate or extract-infused teas are a step up in cost and regulatory attention; water-soluble formulations are a step up again. Start with the blends, learn your customer, and add infused lines only where your state clearly allows them.

   Buy only from licensed hemp growers and processors who provide a certificate of analysis (COA) from a third-party lab showing cannabinoid content and screening for pesticides and heavy metals, and keep a COA on file for every batch you sell; put a QR code to it on the package, because in this category the lab report is the brand. Age-gate your sales to adults even where the law does not force you to; it is both the right call and the credible one.

   Farmers markets (ask the market manager, policies vary), local wellness shops, yoga studios, and smoke-free cannabis-culture events are natural first shelves, and wholesale to independent retailers grows steadily once two or three shops reorder. Online, know the platform rules: mainstream marketplaces mostly prohibit CBD, while your own site works if your payment processor accepts hemp products (several specialize in it, usually at slightly higher fees). Budget for that friction; it is the tax on the category.

   Price for tea margins, not gold-rush margins

   Loose-leaf blends that cost $3 to $6 in tested hemp, herbs, and packaging can retail at $12 to $25 a pouch, and infused lines price higher with higher input costs; either way you are running a tea company's math, roughly 40 to 60 percent margins direct to consumer, not a windfall. Cannabis-adjacent customers have been marketed at with hype for years; a calm, honest voice that respects both the plant and the rules is rare, and it is the moat.
