Referral relationships matter here too, with therapists who want a spiritual companion for clients whose needs are not clinical, with faith leaders, with wellness practitioners. Let your integrity be the marketing, because in this field the people who need you are wary of anyone who sounds like a salesperson, and reassured by anyone who sounds like a steady human being.

   Because nothing external forces you to grow, the coaches who last are the ones who keep their own inner work alive and keep learning: further training, spiritual-direction certification, supervision or peer circles with other coaches, and your own consistent practice.
