   Put a real management agreement in place

   This is a relationship built on money and trust, so paper it properly. A management or agency agreement should spell out your commission percentage, what it applies to (deals you source and negotiate, typically, not the client's pre-existing income), the term and how either side can exit, exclusivity, and how payments flow. Commissions in talent management commonly sit in a percentage range of the deals you broker; be transparent and fair, because a reputation for square dealing is what brings you the next client.    Build the brand-side relationships that create deals

   Your creators are half the business; the brands and agencies that pay them are the other half. Build direct relationships with the marketing managers, brand partnership leads, and agencies who buy creator campaigns, so deals come to you, and pitch your roster proactively with clear one-sheets: audience, engagement, past results, rates. The manager who can pick up the phone and place a client into the right campaign, cleanly and fast, becomes the manager brands actually want to work with.

   Run the deal like a pro so both sides trust you

   The unglamorous work is where you earn the percentage: negotiating the fee and the rights, getting a clear contract signed, confirming deliverables and deadlines, making sure the content ships and the FTC disclosure is correct, and then chasing the invoice until your creator is actually paid, which is a service creators are stunned to have handled for them.    Grow the roster and the business deliberately

   Once a few clients are earning steadily, you can add creators carefully, bring on a second manager and split commission, layer in services (media kits, rate consulting, contract review for creators who are not full clients), and build the reputation that makes talented creators approach you. Keep the roster quality high, because one badly handled client can cost you three good ones.
