Sold as a fixed-scope engagement to the hospital, often underwritten by state or federal grant funding you help them pursue.

   Offer coverage as the recurring layer

   On-call forensic exam coverage contracts (you and a small roster of per-diem SANEs) keep rural programs viable between their own hires, billed as retainer plus per-exam fees. This is clinical work: facility credentialing, malpractice coverage that names forensic practice, and trauma-informed care standards throughout.

   Attorneys and law enforcement pay hourly for exam record review, opinion on evidence collection quality, and expert testimony; this sits adjacent to legal nurse consulting (its own card on this site) but is a distinct forensic specialty with fewer qualified voices. Keep a clean CV, a testimony log, and balanced plaintiff, defense, and prosecution work.
