   Position as the specialist, not another executive coach

   Coaching is an unregulated field: no license is legally required, and anyone can use the title.    The standard shape is a defined engagement: an assessment phase, a set number of months of coaching, and a wrap-up that measures change against the starting evidence. Corporate-sponsored engagements (the company pays for the leader's coaching) are the strong end of this market and commonly run to consequential budgets; price accordingly and always define what the sponsor sees versus what stays confidential with the client.

   Three sources feed this practice: HR and talent leaders who own coaching budgets, generalist executive coaches who hand off communication-specific work, and the coached executives themselves, who move companies and bring you along. Nurture all three; a specialist with a good triangle spends almost nothing on marketing.

   Natural expansions from one coached leader: communication workshops for their leadership team, board-meeting preparation as a standing service, and coaching the rising leaders being groomed for bigger rooms. One executive relationship, well served, becomes an account.
