   Charters are granted for a fixed term (commonly five years) and must be renewed on academic, financial, and operational performance. Track the specific accountability metrics in your charter continuously, keep clean finances and audits, and document outcomes. Losing renewal closes the school, so treat the charter's performance terms as the operating dashboard, not paperwork.
